BCTF 2025 2SLGBTQIA+ Summit – Call for Participants! 🌈✨

The BC Teachers’ Federation (BCTF) is committed to fostering an equitable and inclusive union. As part of this commitment, we are excited to announce the 2025 2SLGBTQIA+ Summit, taking place on May 23–24, 2025. This summit will bring together members who identify as 2SLGBTQIA+ to strengthen connections, build leadership capacity, and enhance engagement within the union.

Summit Goals:

The 2SLGBTQIA+ Summit aims to:
✔ Provide opportunities for BCTF members who identify as 2SLGBTQIA+ to strengthen connections and relationships.
✔ Build community and capacity for meaningful and sustained member engagement.
✔ Develop leadership within the 2SLGBTQIA+ BCTF community.

Selection Criteria:

This summit will include 10 BCTF members who identify as 2SLGBTQIA+, along with two members from the BCTF Committee for Action on Social Justice – 2SLGBTQIA+ Action Group. Participants will be selected based on:

  • Active BCTF membership (K-12 educators)
  • Diverse representation (gender, regional, and experience balance)
  • Priority consideration for:
    • Members from equity-deserving groups
    • New teachers
    • Members new to union engagement
