The grant funds will be allocated to provide small grants to individual members or small groups of early career members within our local teacher union. These grants can be used to cover expenses associated with attending professional development opportunities that adhere to the principles outlined in the BCTF Professional Development Lens document.
The grant can used for
- Early Career Teachers’ PSA Conference: Funding for registration fees, travel, and accommodation for early career members to attend the annual Early Career Members PSA Conference, which offers workshops, seminars, and networking opportunities specifically designed for early career educators.
- BCTF-Sponsored New Teachers’ Conference: Support for early career members to attend the BCTF-sponsored New Teacher Conference, a flagship event that provides comprehensive professional development and support for new educators entering the profession.
- Other Conferences or Professional Development Events or Activities as submitted by the applicant
